About the Book

If you like Robert Dugoni’s Tracy Crosswhite, Michael Connelly’s Bosch, or Tana French’s In the Woods, you’ll love Under the Banner of Valor. Valorie Dawes is a smart, compassionate cop who’s not afraid to break some glass (ceilings) and kick some ass in pursuit of justice for ruthless killers.

Not your typical police procedural, this fast-paced but character-driven mystery pits a young, tough, intuitive policewoman, Val Dawes, against a shadowy alliance of extremists whose chief weapons are violence and terror—and whose principal targets are pregnant women.

Under the Banner of Valor is the fifth book in the Valorie Dawes Thrillers series. Each of the books can be read stand-alone, but are best enjoyed in order, starting with A Woman of Valor, or the prequel, In Search of Valor.

A gripping book, with red herrings and more than a few twists and turns that are sure to keep readers engaged until the end.
– Olga Nunez Miret
A gripping addition to the Valorie Dawes Thrillers series, combining intense action, ethical dilemmas, and emotional depth. In this latest installment, Officer Valorie Dawes, a rising star in Clayton's Women's Anti-Violence Emergency Squad, tackles escalating threats against family planning clinics amidst a backdrop of growing political and personal stakes. The narrative deftly weaves themes of justice, morality, and resilience while keeping readers on edge with its taut pacing and intricate plotting.
