We are so lucky to have a small army of local mystery writers in our area, and six of them are coming to Vintage Books on Saturday, February 22, from 1pm-3pm. We’ll start with a chance for each author to share their work, including a reading from their most recent (or upcoming) books. Following introductions and readings, fans will have a chance to meet each author and have their books signed. We’ll have books available for purchase on the 22nd, but you can also bring previously-purchased books to be signed. We hope to see you there! The Injustice of Valor, by Gary Corbin Book 6 of the Valorie Dawes Thrillers Release date: March 25, 2025 When the cops and courts fail, The Redeemer exacts his own form of justice. A fanatical vigilante murders freed sex offenders, but the Clayton, CT police seem uninterested in finding the perp. Then when Val’s closest friend on the force, a trans woman, suspiciously disappears, Val makes it her mission to find her. When the bodies of freed sex offenders turn up with increasing regularity in western Connecticut, the Clayton Police Department responds with a disinterested yawn. Second-year cop Val Dawes doesn’t share the department’s apparent indifference to the trend of vigilante justice. But her warnings fall on deaf ears, especially after her jealous rivals in the department get her suspended on a bogus assault charge. Then her best friend in the department, a trans woman named Shelby, goes missing under suspicious circumstances. Can Val find her friend before she, too, falls victim to a deranged vigilante?
